Walk 5 info

A walk bursting with galleries, artisan and jewelry stores plus restaurants carved out of colonial Spanish architecture; comprising portions of six main streets.

Mostly level with some downhill on Zacateros. Duration of an hour to two depending on shopping. To avoid the walk back up-hill, taxi to El Jardin or your next destination

This wonderful shopping route has you circling blocks, but if you refer to the map, it will be simple. Jesús Street has interesting art galleries. Hernández Macías has a number of restaurants. Upper Zacateros has interesting shops on each side of the street. What do you do when there is no room to pass the oncoming person on the narrow cobblestone sidewalk such as you'll find on this route? Step off if you are facing oncoming traffic, as the locals consider this to be the unwritten rule. From this route you can easily continue to Route Six and the legendary Instituto Allende, should you choose.
